If your board is nForce 4 try uninstalling the nForce firewall. That was giving me download corruption on a new machine, patches etc wouldn't work and I got the odd garbled picture in IE too. : / If that doesn't help then this thread has some info on other causes: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?...

I really like that the 'vettes look bigger now. In X2 they had no points of reference for scale, the only way to see how big they were was to compare them to another ship. Now they're proper big ships. :D Are the Icons that appear around the edges of the screen indicating that there is a station in ...

I thought that ship was just concept art or an X2:TR screenshot. It's detail isn't as high as X3 ships and the moon and planet are also a bit simplistic. I'd say that it's from the same race as this one. The intakes on the top, the way their cockpits flare out towards the back, and their overall sha...

Oh and about the new view instead of cockpits, well if its like the boron sorta cockpit view without cockpit in screenies thread with lasers firing then i hate it allready as the weapons just come from no where and looks poor. The lasers come from nowhere because the effect was bugged at the time. ...

Instead the the camera is pointed directly at the hull of the ship, so the geometry of the vessel can be seen. Of course, in some ships, especially the larger ones and the more creatively designed ones, you can still see the ship hull etc in the normal view. I'm happy then. So long as there's somet...

This screenshot shows a cockpit viewpoint from this ship , and it was confirmed that the X2 M3 cockpit in the video was a "placeholder", which also suggests that there will be cockpits. However, the only other information I've seen on them was along the lines of "...we could have made lots of great...

That's IMMENSE!!!
I parked the spacesuit in the engine of a Boron Ray in X2 and I was astounded by the scale... but this looks even bigger!
Here's the shot showing all of that ship.

Sounds fun.The flight mechanics are still identifiably X. That is, this game uses an easygoing take on Newtonian physics. It's not so demanding as I-War's advanced flight model, but then nor is it quite as relaxed as Tachyon's slide and spin system.

I too also like the reticles around the not targeted ships. It's nice to see the ships you'll normally won't know they are there unless you goto the sector map. Hopefully that's optional. Yeah, if the reticles are there all the time they'll be annoying. I do think they'll be handy in combat though....

The TS isn't particularly heavily armed. There are 3 visible guns, those things on the sides are cargo pod clamps. The ship probably has another gun on the other side and more at the other end, however considering that many of the (far more manouverable) fighters have 8 guns, it's still nothing more...

Notice the ship beneath the clouds below the low orbit station!! I noticed that ship too, but if it really is below the clouds then the clouds in that planet's atmosphere must be a LOT higher than on Earth, otherwise the ship would be hundreds or thousands of kilometers long! I think it's more like...
