Yep, according to the requirements. That could still change. Based on publicly available info, we believe the application is 32-bit but it requires a 64-bit OS to run (perhaps only optimally). Running X-Rebirth on a 32-bit OS will probably not be supported by Egosoft though. that is quite disappoin...

Those ships are "fillers" they follow a pre planned path, they just make the stations look busy, some will drop loot too and they will probably be a nuisance when in combat, if you attack them, security forces will chase you, they are the equivalent of traffic in GTA. The key difference is that GTA...

Plus, again, gamepads are far, far easier to use to ram through menus than a mouse, much less a joystick. Start -> right -> right -> down -> X -> down -> X -> X -> X -> L2 -> X is to order a Megalodon to "jump to me", and can be mashed out in less than a second in combat. Doing that with the mouse,...

good enough for spaceship game but not good enough for realistic flight sim... it's hard for me to explain with language barrier but I'm very sure those around here who actually play flight sims know what I'm talking about... I was arguing to the guy who claimed that freelancer mouse control will w...

Oh, and mouse control doesn't work in most flight sims because they use the mouse in direct translation mode(i.e. where moving the mouse translates into holding the joystick, while stopping the mouse translates to holding the joystick dead center) instead of a reticle follow mode like freelancer us...

I'm sure all of us will get frustrated soon and start bashing egosoft if we have to literally running around searching for every damn corridors in the universe to find something and/or get back to the ship.

you people! you have done that yourself. I just took a peek on the Q&A thread on Reddit, gosh people you just can't stand the itch from craving about information, can you? I know that a part of the X series fans have been gaming since long ago, let me ask you something, don't you agree that one of t...

Exactly. I was specifically trying to put the SSE debate to rest, partly out of curiosity as I couldn't find any reason why the game would require the most recent SSE instructions. The system I ran it on was the only one I happened to have available that had a pre-i-series processor, along with the...

On that PC, yes, it was well under that. But bear in mind that it was below the minimum requirement in CPU, graphics card and available memory. then Rebirth is actually much heavier than I expected  I thought a Q6600 should at least able to deliver near 30FPS when paired with decent enough gr...

Right, to settle the discussion about the CPU requirement, I've fired up the game on an old PC with a Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor. Performance is, not unexpectedly, fairly poor, but then again the PC I tried it on also fails to meet the minimum requirements in at least two other important ways. So ...
