[7.00 Beta 1] Steam Deck - Crash on launch - workaround explained

Version 7.00 Beta 1 is totally not launching on Steam Deck Oled.
Previous version on default branch (6.20?) is launching, but beta 7 crashes right after clicking Play button in Steam library.

Note: Players experiencing crashes on Steam Deck using this version can go to Settings -> Properties -> Compatibility in the Steam client, check the box and select Proton Experimental in the dropdown below.

I just downloaded the game to my steam deck, I'm using proton experimental and having a good time going through the tutorials. No issues so far.

I don't have a steamdeck but I do know the steamdeck runs Linux. X4 does run natively on Linux. That's how I play it on PC. If the Linux port doesn't run on steamdeck, that should probably be something to get fixed.

It does run on the Steam Deck, as described above. Please don't add to threads that have already been resolved, especially with comments that are not really helpful.
