TC 2.0a Yaki Ship Waiting in Belt of Aguilar?
Vanilla English DVD TC at 2.0a, Terran Def start, done Terran, Goner, most of FF and Hub plots - not started Aldrin plot.
I frequently see a Yaki Susanowa, enemy to me, with a red fight mission symbol above it when I enter Belt of Aguilar for JSDD missions. As soon as my ship gets anywhere near it or I try to target it, it loses the mission symbol, turns neutral blue and jumps away. It eventually comes back to the sector as hostile and with the symbol again.
Not seen it before 2.0a. Could this just be normal behaviour for a ship offering a fight mission which is set hostile to the player, or perhaps a plot ship for later that needs some further conditions to be met before it will interact?

Ive done a few missions from Yaki ships like that, the normal missions they give you are to destroy a convoy, these are very handy missions if you want to build up you rep with the Yaki to get access to there ship yard and ibl factory's

Thanks for all the clarification. It is odd that the mission has timed out every time I (and Andy Barrett) get within targetting/comms range of the ship - even when it has only just returned. Those of you who have had missions from it, were you already friends with the Yaki and was the ship blue to you from the start of interaction? Seems a bit self-defeating if you have to already be friends to become friends!

I think that's normal behaviour. Hostile ships generally won't talk to you, so if it is a mission-offering ship, as soon as you get close enough to hail it, it has to drop the mission. Not sure why it jumps out, though. However, I do get the mission droppage on any offering ship that I'm enemies with. In my pirate game, I see a lot of these, especially from TS convoys that want an escort. Soon as they see me, the offer goes away. They never trust a pirate, I guess.Alan Phipps wrote:Thanks for all the clarification. As far as getting enough rep with the Yaki to have their ships offer you missions, try going to a pirate base in Yaki sectors and get missions there. It should help you increase your Yaki rep.
