It does require X3TC to be installed.

TrackIR is supported, as is FaceTrackNoIR. Not sure about the number of axes, though; probably two.
This is awesome news, finaly some situational awareness!

Cool, thanks CBJ - that should keep the download size down nicely.

One more Q: I assume this will work equally well with a Steam copy of TC as well as an original DVD install? Actually, I don't assume that considering my Steam games go to an entirely different folder...

Any more info would be appreciated if you are able to provide it :)

Cheers,

Scoob.

but one question, why Saya Kho destroyed Earth Torus?
Well, it all started after Julian went off with the gangsters daughter from X2 - she took it...badly...

Thats because we will have to wait longer to Rebirth than originally expected, but thats OK :) Anything new from Ego is always more than welcome

Wish you well ES with the new exp pack. Sadly it still wont get me to play due to the strong dislike for the x3 series as been from the old crowd who started with xbtf and up to x2. Still gl with it and all.

Looking forward to x rebirth tho still as it at least offers change in some form compared to rinse and repeat games that's been happening for years.

:O :O :O

THIS IS AWESOME!!!

(Pity they blew up the Torus though... launching a fleet assault against that monster would have been FUN... in the "Dwarf Fortress" sense of the word...)

THANK YOU EGOSOFT!!!!

So, if the old save games will not be compatible, I will wait a few more days to begin a new game.

Hmmm ... owning the 'Superbox', but not willing to use Steam for X. How to get my hands on that expansion?

Though I like Steam and use it for other stuff, I like to have X on it's very own partition. :) Steam simply 'kills' that possibility with it's stupid hardcoded installdirectories.

Since this is an add-on to X3TC, do we need to remove any mods before we install X3AP?

Three rotation axes are supported, but the default is to only use yaw and pitch, roll can be configured.

TrackIR is the best option, as the tracking uses markers on your head and is therefore very accurate. Tracking by face recognition is less accurate as the rotation of your head has to be guessed with image processing.

Yes i just realized yaw and pitch will do just nice since there is no cockpit.
Coming from flightsims i have been using TrackIr for years and to be able to use it in X is fantastic.

I hope Rebirth will have the same support for tracking devices(?).
